Ready for primetime? sIFR3 looks promising
We’ll admit it’s been a while since we tried out Mike Davidson’s sIFR, which uses JavaScript to replace on-page text with tiny Flash movies to simulate custom typefaces. We loved the idea, but the original just wasn’t ready to use for client projects.
Times have changed. The new sIFR3, now at a different home, works very well and has a promising future. The script is easy to use and allows you to include virtually any typeface in your web page headers.
Yes, we know more must be done, but sIFR3 is definitely a great alternative in the meantime.
